The king of Portuguese grapes, Touriga Nacional is an indigenous Portuguese variety from the Dao, where it's said to have originated. Today it is also one of the most important varieties in the Douro (where it is one of the main grapes in both Port and still red wines) and is universally considered one of Portugal’s, if not the world’s, finest grapes.
Touriga Nacional yields inky, full-bodied, powerful wines with exceptionally complex aromas. It frequently shows blackberry, blueberry, rock rose and rosemary notes, with hints of violet if planted with enough altitude.
QdL's Touriga Nacional is intensely seductive. With a bold scarlet color, the aroma is filled with compote-like notes with a twist of bergamot, pine and syrup. The large berries yield a rather juicy palate with a silky long and smooth finish.
